Aramid fibre tape 190 g/m², 10 cm
Aramid is a very strong material. The fibers are more flexible than carbon, but much stronger and harder to cut.
Aramid is also known under the brand name Kevlar.
Aramid tape is mainly used as an intermediate layer in a sandwich / composite board. It can also be used as a top layer where a lot of friction is expected.
These aramid fabrics are not suitable for textile applications.
We recommend to use this product with epoxy for functional applications. This is because epoxy is flexible and therefore moves better with the flexible aramid than other resins. This increases the impact resistance of the product.
For high end applications at production level, we recommend vacuum supported laminating. This is done by means of a vacuum bag with which, after lamination, the product can penetrate deep into the fibers by vacuum.
