CM 50 Cyclopentasiloxane for cosmetics
Description
A base fluid in a number of personal care products, with excellent spreading, easy rub-out and lubrication properties together with unique volatility characteristics.
Application
Antiperspirants, deodorants, hair sprays, cleansing creams, skin creams, lotions and stick products, bath oils, suntan and shaving products, make-up, nail polishes.
In sticks, BRB CM50 can give the right balance between volatility and spreading. BRB CM50 can be used as a volatile carrier and is compatible with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients

Processing
CM 50 may be used alone or blended with other cosmetic fluids to provide a fluid base for a variety of cosmetic ingredients. It features good solubility in most anhydrous alcohols and in many cosmetic solvents.
CM 50 is a volatile with appreciable vapour pressure at ambient temperature.
Handling precautions
Care should be taken when handling volatile fluids at temperatures 10 °C below the quoted flash point.
As with any combustible material containers should be kept tightly closed and away from heat, sparks, open flames and other sources of ignition.
A product safety data sheet should be obtained from your BRB office prior to use.
Special instructions
The addition of silicone oil is a form of adjusting your silicones. You should be aware that the final values, will differ from the values indicated on the data sheets of the silicone.
Oil does not actively participate in the silicone network. This means it will be able to migrate out of the silicone over many years. This proces is sped up when the silicone are under pressure or bend. This will result in a greasy layer on the silicone surface and possible shrinkage of the rubber.
Usable life and storage
When stored at or below 25°C in the original unopened containers this product had a usable life of 36 months form the date of production we will guarantee the usable life of this product until the date indicated on the packaging.
CM 50 should be stored at 5°C above its freeze point. If the material does freeze on no account should a naked flame be used to melt the product.

This product is available in pails, drums, IBC and road tankers.
