Processing
Pay attention to the weight of the metal powder when processing. Metal will often sink to the bottom.
With a high addition of metal powder to casting resins or plasters, the end result will become more fragile.
Processing in acrylic resin:
With the A and B component of the acrylic resin in proportion. Add the same weight of metal powder as the weight of the total acrylic resin mixture. For example 1.5 kg. tempered acrylic resin with 1.5 kg. metal powder.
Speed up the rusting process: this can be done with hydrochloric acid or ammonia. (Consider your own safety)
This process can be stopped by rinsing with water or soda.
You can apply a sealer to maintain the effect.
By not applying a sealer, the rusting process will continue in a natural way.
Applying patina: there are many techniques for applying patina. They often work with acids. Think carefully about your own safety and that of your environment! Especially with regard to inhalation and skin contact. If you are not familiar with the safety and processing of these various substances, we do not recommend patination.
