Important additional information for all types of masks and filters

How do I know when the filters are used up?

1) If there is still an odor coming through the gas mask, from the product it is supposed to protect against or from a similar product with a strong odor. Tip: For most gas masks you can test whether you can smell thinner.

Of course, this does not apply to dust masks. They are generally not intended to filter out gases.

2) If breathing through the mask becomes noticeably more difficult, the filter is too clogged and must be replaced. This applies to gas masks and dust masks.

3) If the filter/mask starts to become noticeably dirty, this will often be accompanied by more difficult breathing.

How do I extend the lifespan?

1) If not necessary, try not to use gas masks in dusty environments or as a dust mask, as the gas filter will become clogged more quickly.

2) Even if you use a gas mask, still work with good extraction or good ventilation.

3) After use, store the mask and/or filters in a ziplock bag/grip bag, resealable box etc. to avoid dust and reactions with gases.

Use of masks and filters

1) Write the date of first use on the bag or box in which the filters and mask are stored. This gives you an indication of how old/used the filter is.

2) Only use masks that fit snugly around the nose and mouth, so that no false sense of security can arise. Choose the right size and make sure that the brackets in the mask are pressed in properly.
