Silicone Condensation accelerator
Silicone Condensation Accelerator speeds up the curing process and shortens the demoulding time.
This 1 component of whitish emulsion is added to the A component of condensation silicone to shorten the processing time and demal time of silicone.
The operation of this accelerator depends very much on the formulation of the condensation silicone and the harder used.
Processing
This accelerator can be added to the A component after which the accelerated A component can simply be stored again. The accelerated A does not have to be used immediately. (Unless you've added harder)
Roughly speaking, it can be used as a guide that 0.1% accelerator (compared to weight to A component) reduces processing time by 15%.
Always do a test yourself to see what amount in your situation and with your silicone and harder gives the best processing time and demal time.
Normally we recommend staying between 0.1% and 2%. So for example 1 to 20 grams accelerator on 1 kg A component.
Important: The humidity, moisture in the surface that you cover with silicone and the moisture in the silicone itself have a very large effect on the curing time of condensation silicone. Temperature also has a bit of influence but clearly less. All tests are done at 20oC and 50% humidity. Larger moisture% accelerating silicone. Higher temperatures to 35oC accelerate the silicone as well. Lower temperatures and lower humidity slow down the silicone.
Shelf life
Stored in a sealed container, cool and frost-free, the shelf life is at least 2 years.
