Semsil HTV platinum silicone is a solid silicone rubber (HCR) with platinum cure, designed for processing in a heated press. The grades comply with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and are available in Shore A 40, 60 and 80.

Processing

This material is not pourable and not suitable for casting. It is vulcanized under pressure in a heated mould.

• Vulcanization: 10 minutes at 175 °C, pressure adjusted to your process
• Post-curing: 4 hours at 200 °C
• Avoiding inhibition: keep moulds and mixing equipment free from sulphur, tin, amines and residues of peroxide or condensation cure systems

• Technical moulded parts, keypads and membranes
• Parts for medical applications, after validation by the manufacturer

What is HCR?

HCR (High Consistency Rubber) is solid, kneadable silicone rubber processed with conventional rubber technology such as compression moulding, transfer moulding and extrusion. Together with liquid LSR, HCR belongs to the HTV silicones, which vulcanize at high temperature. In practice, HTV is often used as a synonym for HCR.
