Why choose kneadable RTV-2 silicone?
Kneadable silicones, also known as silicone putty, are two-component RTV-2 systems that you mix and shape by hand. They cure at room temperature into a flexible to firm rubber.
These systems are ideal when liquid silicones are difficult to apply, and they offer excellent control in hard-to-reach areas and for small repairs.
Curing mechanism: RTV 2 stands for room temperature vulcanising with 2 components. Mix part A and part B according to the instructions.

Application methods
- →Hand mould or push mould – press the material around the object in one go

Processing & curing
Ideal conditions
Temperature: Work at around 20 to 25°C on clean, dry models.
Environment: Avoid dust, oil and latex; observe the pot life and demould time of each product.
- Addition-cure systems: platinum catalyst
- Condensation-cure systems: tin catalyst
- Both types are available as silicone putty
Modifiers
Pigments – add colour to clear or white putty.
Release – use a suitable release agent with epoxy, PU or polyester.
- Suitable for casting epoxy, polyurethane and polyester
- Seal porous masters beforehand
Brushable / spreadable silicones
Besides kneadable silicones, there are also spreadable silicones. These are thick and non-slumping; you apply them with a spatula onto vertical surfaces to build up layers.
Advantage: Handy for larger surfaces and complex shapes where more control is needed.
