Premium Extra-Hard Kneadable Silicone for Professional Hard Mould and Industrial Applications

Stensil ECO 95 is a two-component, platinum-catalysed addition-cure kneadable silicone (Shore A 95) and the hardest variant in the Stensil ECO series. The blue paste cures at room temperature and is mixed by hand in a 1:1 weight ratio. With a pot life of 1.5 minutes and a demoulding time of only 4.5 minutes, this variant offers the fastest curing in the series. The Shore A 95 hardness makes Stensil ECO 95 eminently suitable for industrial production moulds, heavy reproduction, pressure-resistant applications, and situations where normal silicone would be too flexible.

Key Advantages

  • Shore A 95 – extra-hard grade approaching hard rubber that can still be worked by kneading, for maximum pressure resistance.
  • Demoulding time 4.5 minutes – fastest curing in the Stensil ECO series for high industrial throughput.
  • Shrinkage <0.1% – excellent dimensional stability for technical precision applications.
  • Density 1.72 g/cm³ – highest density in the series for a sturdy, shape-retaining paste structure.
  • 1:1 mixing ratio by weight – easy manual mixing.
  • Chemical resistance – reasonably resistant to acidic and more aggressive substances for industrial reuse.

Typical Applications

  • Industrial production moulds – hard moulds for long production runs with pressure-resistant requirements.
  • Heavy reproduction – moulds for heavy metals or large castings.
  • Technical prototyping – rigid moulds for components where flexibility is undesirable.
  • Restoration – structural ornaments and heavy fittings.
  • Die casting – moulds that must withstand high internal pressure during filling.
  • Tooling – production aids and fixtures where rubber is too soft.

Processing instructions:

  1. Take equal parts of components A and B by weight (1:1).
  2. Knead both components carefully with clean hands until a uniform blue colour is achieved.
  3. Process the mixed paste within the 1.5-minute pot life.
  4. Press the silicone over or around the model and wait 4.5 minutes at 20 °C.
  5. Demould once the silicone is fully cured and no longer feels sticky.
  6. Full strength is achieved after 24 hours.

Addition-cure silicone warning: Stensil ECO is a platinum-catalysed addition-cure silicone that can be inhibited by sulphur, nitrogen, amine compounds, and metal salts. These substances are found in, among other things, many latex gloves, some plasticines, lacquers, adhesives, condensation-cure silicones, 1-component silicone sealant, natural rubbers, and 3D printing materials (especially stereolithography/SLA). If in doubt, test on a small area first or apply a protective layer of polyvinyl alcohol.

Silconic GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of high-quality silicone elastomers with production in Lonsee. Since 2004, the company has developed dental silicones under its own brands and is one of the leading producers of RTV-2 silicones in Europe.
