Why choose platinum-cure silicone?

Platinum silicones are silicone rubbers that cure through an addition reaction with a platinum catalyst, hence the name addition-hardening silicone . This reaction produces no byproducts, resulting in a stable structure with very low shrinkage , high tear resistance , and a flexible, rubbery end product, ideal for precision silicone molds.

Platinum silicones, also known as RTV2 addition silicones, combine dimensional stability with pleasant processing. They are available as clear or colorless variants and as a castable, brushable or kneadable system for a variety of projects.

Addition-hardening casting rubbers are a specific class of silicone rubbers that, after curing, produce a beautiful, rubbery, and flexible result. They are also known as platinum silicone or RTV2 silicone .

Curing mechanism: Platinum-catalyzed addition reaction, curing at room temperature. Gentle heat can accelerate curing if the product allows it.
