Premium Fast-Setting Platinum-Cure Silicone Rubber for Professional Applications

PlatSil FS-10 is a fast-curing, platinum-cured silicone rubber from Polytek Development Corp. with a Shore OO60/A13 hardness. With a pour time of 8 minutes and a demoulding time of just 25 minutes at 73°F, this 1A:1B system offers an exceptional combination of processing time and turnaround speed — ideal for production environments and rapid prototyping.

Key Benefits

  • Fast-setting formula: 25-minute demoulding time at room temperature — further accelerated with Part X Accelerator or heat (max. 60°C).
  • Long pour time relative to cure speed: 8-minute pour time provides ample time for mixing and pouring, even for larger volumes.
  • Low viscosity: 4,200 cP for excellent detail reproduction and easy pouring without vacuum equipment.
  • High tear strength: 157.9 pli (Die B) and 488 psi tensile strength for durable moulds in production series.
  • Zero shrinkage: Platinum catalyst ensures dimensionally stable moulds without shrinkage or degradation over time.
  • Excellent chemical resistance: Suitable for casting polyurethane, epoxy, polyester and foam without a release agent in most applications.

Typical Applications

  • Rapid prototyping of flexible parts in product design and engineering
  • Series mould making where fast turnaround is essential
  • Casting of polyurethane plastic, foam and epoxy in production environments
  • Brush-on blanket moulds for complex geometries (with PlatThix thickener)
  • SFX and theatrical applications (not for skin contact) requiring fast demoulding
  • Industrial applications in automotive, architecture and consumer products

Technical Characteristics

PlatSil FS-10 is mixed in a 1A:1B ratio by weight. Pour time: 8 minutes. Demoulding time: 25 minutes at 73°F (can be accelerated with Part X or heat). Shore hardness: OO60/A13. Viscosity: 4,200 cP. Tensile strength: 488 psi. Elongation at break: 679%. Specific gravity: 1.11. Cured colour: milky white. Store at 15–32°C in unopened original packaging; use within six months.
