Premium Silicone Casting Rubber for Professional Applications
PlatSil® HTS-25 is a two-component, platinum-catalyzed silicone rubber (RTV) from Polytek Development Corp., specially developed for demanding production environments. With exceptional tear strength, tensile strength, and elongation of over 2,000%, this rubber offers unparalleled durability for repetitive demolding and stretching.
Key Benefits
- Extreme elongation (>2,000%): Ideal for complex geometries and undercuts without the risk of tearing.
- High tear strength (179 pli Die B): Resistant to intensive use in high-volume production environments.
- Excellent release: No release agents are needed in most applications.
- Good chemical resistance: Suitable for casting polyesters, polyurethanes, epoxy, and more.
- No shrinkage during curing: Excellent dimensional accuracy for precision parts.
- Adjustable working time: Compatible with accelerators (Part X) and retarders (Part R).
Typical Applications
- Mold making for polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting materials
- Prototyping and industrial design: accurate reproduction of complex models
- Architectural restoration: reproduction of ornamental details in concrete or plaster
- Art casting and sculpture: flexible molds for multiple uses
- Electronics and potting: protection of components in demanding environments
