Premium Silicone Mold Rubber for Professional Applications
PlatSil® HTS-40 is a two-component, platinum-catalyzed silicone rubber (RTV) from Polytek Development Corp., developed for demanding production environments where higher hardness is required. With Shore A40, excellent tear strength, and good chemical resistance, this rubber delivers reliable performance in repetitive demolding and intensive use.
Key Benefits
- Shore A40 Hardness: Sturdier molds for applications requiring more structural rigidity.
- High Tear Strength (131 pli Die B): Resistant to intensive use in high-volume production environments.
- Excellent Release: No release agents needed in most applications.
- Good Chemical Resistance: Suitable for casting polyesters, polyurethanes, epoxies, and more.
- No Shrinkage Upon Curing: Excellent dimensional accuracy for precision parts.
- Adjustable Processing Time: Compatible with accelerators (Part X) and retarders (Part R).
Typical Applications
- Mold making for polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting materials
- Industrial prototyping: accurate reproduction of stiffer parts
- Architectural restoration: reproduction of ornamental details in concrete or plaster
- Art casting and sculpture: sturdy molds for multiple uses
- Manufacturing of technical parts with precise tolerances
Technical Specifications

Safety Information
Component A is classified as irritating to skin and eyes: it causes skin irritation (H315) and serious eye irritation (H319). Signal word: Warning. According to Polytek's European safety data sheet, component B is not classified as hazardous. Wear protective gloves, for example nitrile, and eye protection, and wash your hands thoroughly after work. In case of skin contact, wash with plenty of soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes and remove contact lenses if possible. If irritation persists, consult a doctor. Always consult the supplied safety data sheet (SDS) for full information on hazards, handling, storage and first aid.| Safety Pictograms | Safety Data Sheets (SDS) |
