Premium Kneadable Silicone for Professional Mould-Making and Dental Technology Applications

Stensil ECO 30 is a two-component, platinum-catalysed addition-cure kneadable silicone (Shore A 30) that cures at room temperature. The sand-coloured putty is easily mixed by hand in a 1:1 ratio by weight and, thanks to its pot life of 1.5 minutes and demoulding time of 5 minutes, is ideal for fast, accurate reproductions. Its very low shrinkage of <0.1% makes Stensil ECO 30 particularly well suited to dimensionally critical applications in mould making, dental technology, podiatry and jewellery production.

Key Benefits

  • Shore A 30 – medium-soft hardness that combines flexibility with enough firmness for repeated demoulding of complex geometries.
  • Demoulding time 5 minutes – fast cure at 20 °C for high throughput in laboratories and workshops.
  • Shrinkage <0.1% – dimensionally accurate reproductions suitable for precision work.
  • Density 1.68 g/cm³ – firm putty that stays in place on vertical models without sagging.
  • Mix ratio 1:1 by weight – easy hand mixing, no equipment needed.
  • Chemical resistance – reasonably resistant to acidic and more aggressive substances.

Typical Applications

  • Dental technology – dental impressions, bite registrations, study models and isolating layers.
  • Podiatry – foot impressions for orthopaedic insoles.
  • Mould making – reproduction moulds for jewellery, miniatures and small objects.
  • Jewellery & goldsmithing – moulds for rings, pendants and filigree work.
  • Model making & prototyping – accurate reproductions of small technical parts.
  • Education & workshops – accessible to beginners thanks to simple 1:1 hand mixing.

Processing instructions:

  1. Take equal parts by weight of components A and B (1:1).
  2. Knead both components together thoroughly with clean hands until the putty has a uniform sand colour.
  3. Use the mixed putty within the pot life of 1.5 minutes.
  4. Press the silicone over or around the model and wait 5 minutes at 20 °C.
  5. Demould once the silicone has fully cured and no longer feels tacky.
  6. Full strength is reached after 24 hours.

Addition-cure silicone warning: Stensil ECO is a platinum-catalysed addition-cure silicone whose cure can be inhibited by sulphur, nitrogen, amine compounds and metal salts. These substances are found in many latex gloves, some plasticines, paints, adhesives, condensation-cure silicones, one-component silicone sealant, natural rubbers and 3D printing materials (especially stereolithography/SLA), among others. If in doubt, test on a small area first or apply a protective layer of polyvinyl alcohol.

Silconic GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of high-quality silicone elastomers with production in Lonsee. Since 2004 the company has been developing dental silicones under its own brands and is one of the leading producers of RTV-2 silicones in Europe.
