Premium Medium-Hard Kneadable Silicone for Professional Mold Making and Jewelry Applications

Stensil ECO 60 is a 2-component platinum addition kneadable silicone (Shore A 60) that cures at room temperature. The orange paste is easily mixed by hand in a 1:1 weight ratio and offers a fast production cycle with a pot life of 1.5 minutes and a demolding time of 5 minutes. Its Shore A 60 hardness makes this variant extremely suitable for firmer molds, jewelry production, model making, and industrial reproduction where more rigidity is desired than with the softer ECO 30 or 50 variants.

Key Advantages

  • Shore A 60 – medium-hard version that offers more pressure resistance for hard objects and heavier casting materials.
  • Demolding time 5 minutes – fast curing at 20°C for high production speed.
  • Shrinkage <0.1% – dimensionally accurate reproductions for precision applications.
  • Density 1.64 g/cm³ – stable paste for vertical models.
  • 1:1 mixing ratio by weight – easy manual mixing without equipment.
  • Chemical resistance – reasonably resistant to acidic and more aggressive substances for repeated use.

Typical Applications

  • Jewelry production – sturdy molds for metal and resin casting of rings, pendants, and miniatures.
  • Mold making – durable reproduction molds for medium-hard to hard materials.
  • Model making & prototyping – accurate reproductions with good dimensional stability.
  • Restoration & reproduction – ornaments, fittings, and historical details.
  • Dental technology – firm control bites and insulation layers.
  • Industrial small series – reproduction of technical parts with more rigidity.

Processing instructions:

  1. Take equal parts of A and B components by weight (1:1).
  2. Knead both components carefully by hand until a uniform orange color is achieved.
  3. Process the mixed paste within the 1.5-minute pot life.
  4. Press the silicone over or around the model and wait 5 minutes at 20°C.
  5. Demold once the silicone has fully cured and no longer feels sticky.
  6. Full strength is reached after 24 hours.

Addition-cure silicone warning: Stensil ECO is a platinum-cure silicone that can be poisoned by sulfur, nitrogen, amine compounds, and metal salts. These substances are found, among others, in many latex gloves, some plasticines, varnishes, glues, condensation-cure silicones, 1-component silicone sealant, natural rubbers, and 3D printing materials (especially stereolithography/SLA). If in doubt, test on a small area first or apply a protective layer of polyvinyl alcohol.

Silconic GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of high-quality silicone elastomers with production in Lonsee. Since 2004, the company has been developing dental silicones under its own brands and is one of the leading producers of RTV-2 silicones in Europe.
