Read this safety data sheet and the product information sheets before you start. We do everything we can to select the easiest and safest products for our web shop. Always remember that you are working with chemical materials. This applies to polyester, epoxy, polyurethane and condensation silicones, but also to acrylic resin and all products that carry safety warnings. Cured products can also be dangerous during finishing. Handle everything according to the scheme below and use common sense.
On our product pages and packaging you may come across GHS pictograms. These are the legal hazard symbols under the CLP regulation: a red diamond on a white background with a black symbol. They show at a glance what type of hazard a product has. Below are the nine pictograms with their meaning.
GHS01Explosive substances and mixtures that can explode through impact, friction, fire or heat.
GHS02Flammable gases, liquids, vapours or solids that catch fire easily.
GHS03Oxidising substances that can cause or intensify a fire or feed an explosion.
GHS04Compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases. Can explode when heated or cause cold burns.
GHS05Corrosive substances that can seriously damage skin and eyes or attack metals.
GHS06Acutely toxic substances that can cause serious or fatal harm even in small amounts.
GHS07Can cause irritation of skin, eyes or airways, allergic skin reactions or harm when swallowed.
GHS08Serious health effects such as carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity or organ damage.
GHS09Harmful or toxic to the aquatic environment, in the short or long term.
Alongside the GHS hazard symbols, we use round ISO safety symbols. A blue round disc indicates a mandatory action, that is, something you must do, such as wearing protection. A prohibition symbol indicates what you may not do.
M055Keep chemicals out of the reach of children and do not let children work with them unsupervised.
M056Do not eat, drink or smoke near chemical materials.
M011Wash your hands after use with soap and plenty of water.
M004Wear safety goggles when working with liquids and when grinding or sanding.
M009Wear liquid-tight gloves, preferably vinyl or nitrile.
M017Wear a mask with a filter for organic vapours with liquid resins.
M016Wear a dust mask when sanding cured materials and when handling powders.
M026Wear a liquid-tight apron or overalls to protect skin and clothing.
Always wear safety goggles when working with liquid materials or when grinding and sanding solid products. Normal glasses are often not safe enough. A small drop is enough to cause a lot of misery.
Always wear liquid-tight gloves. Latex gloves are suitable for harmless chemicals, but vinyl and nitrile gloves are better: they dissolve less easily and are more resistant to more aggressive chemicals.
Always wear a mask with a filter for organic vapours with all liquid resins. Be sure to do this for polyester, polyurethane and epoxy, regardless of where the products come from. Replace the filters as often per use as indicated on the packaging. When using powders and when sanding cured materials, always use a dust cap or mask and safety goggles.
Use a liquid-tight apron or overalls. If you spill a lot of material, taking off clothes can cause problems and clothes will hold the liquid against the body longer.
If a liquid comes into contact with the skin, always wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.
In case of contact with the eyes, always rinse with plenty of water.
If ingested, rinse the mouth with water. Usually do not induce vomiting, see the safety data sheets for this, but take Norit or an equivalent material if this is easy, otherwise do not administer anything. Consult a doctor immediately.
In case of occurring, increasing or persistent complaints, consult a doctor immediately and take the safety information with you.
