    Size chart

Two-part epoxy paste for bonding, filling and sealing

Aves Apoxie Paste is a versatile two-part epoxy paste that lets you permanently bond, fill, seal and shape most materials. You mix equal parts A and B and then have 1 to 3 hours of working time. After about 6 hours the paste has set and after 24 hours it is fully cured, with 0 % shrinkage. Once cured, Apoxie Paste is waterproof and electrically non-conductive, with a khaki, slightly translucent colour. Smooth it with water for a semi-gloss finish.

    Key benefits

    • Strong adhesion: bonds to itself, other epoxies, many plastics, resin, glass, metal, wood, stone and foam.
    • 0 % shrinkage: dimensionally stable and crack-free.
    • Waterproof: water resistant once cured.
    • Electrically non-conductive: suitable where insulation is required.
    • Can be coloured: with a small amount of pigment or paint after mixing.
    • Does not attack foam: ideal as a hard top coat on foam.

    Typical applications

    • ✓ Bonding and repairing antiques, toys and dolls
    • ✓ Jewellery and stone setting
    • ✓ Casting in flexible moulds
    • ✓ Hard top coat and texture on foam
    • ✓ Taxidermy and wildlife art
    • ✓ Model making and prototypes

    Processing

    1. Wear protective gloves, for example nitrile.
    2. To make part A thinner, warm it carefully in hot water. Let it cool before use, because warmed material cures faster.
    3. Take equal parts A and B and mix vigorously with a spatula for 2 minutes until the paste has a uniform colour.
    4. Colour the paste with a small amount of pigment or paint if desired.
    5. Apply within 1 to 3 hours and smooth with a tool. Water or Aves Finishing Solution gives a semi-gloss finish.
    6. After about 6 hours the paste has set and after 24 hours it is fully cured. You can then paint it.
    7. Remove uncured residue with soap and water.

    Points of attention

    • ✓ The unmixed components may cause an allergic skin reaction. Avoid skin contact.
    • ✓ Wear a dust mask when sanding cured paste.
    • ✓ The paste is supplied as a set of equal parts A and B.
    • ✓ Store closed in a dry place between 6 and 28 °C.
