    Size chart

    BECKOCOAT® PU 428/51XMPAC

    Lightly stabilized, oil-free, moisture-curing one-component polyurethane resin

    Properties and Uses

Ideal as a primer for 2-component PU and polyester on various surfaces.

    • Fast curing - Radiant brilliance coating
    • Superior wear resistance - Excellent impact resistance
    • Excellent adhesion on various surfaces
    • Floor sealer, wood coating, concrete impregnation
    • Suitable as a topcoat for alkyd resins in two-component systems

    Applications

This extremely wear-resistant coating is ideal for:

    • Industrial floors and coatings
    • Concrete coatings resistant to fuel and oil
    • Garage floors and workshops
    • Laboratories and chemical plants
    • Heavy wear environments such as bowling alleys, roller skating rinks
    • Gymnastics halls and schools
    • Bowling alleys, billiard tables, hockey floors

    Application as a primer

When used as a primer for GRP (glass reinforced polyester), 250 grams of primer is typically used per m² of substrate.

Multiple coats may be necessary for very absorbent surfaces.

As with all primers, this primer should be applied extremely thinly to ensure good adhesion and a bubble-free finish.

The curing time of this primer depends largely on the substrate temperature, humidity and thickness of application.

At 20oC with a humidity of 50% and an applied thickness of 200 micrometers (brush thickness or roller thickness):

    • Dust-free after 40 minutes
    • Stick-free / dry after 180 minutes
    • Strong and workable after 24 hours
    • Fully cured after 7 days

At lower temperatures or lower humidity times will increase.

If a thicker layer is desired, multiple layers can be applied on top of each other. The next layer can be applied after 6 to 8 hours at room temperature.

Do not allow more than 24 hours of drying time between coats or between the final coat and the material to be primed (such as polyester). If the drying time is too long, the adhesion will not be adequate.
