Accelerator for a shorter cure time of Elastosil FX silicones

Wacker Elastosil FX Fast is an additive that shortens the standard cure time of Wacker Elastosil FX silicones. It is a highly concentrated platinum solution that you add drop by drop to the already mixed FX silicone. You only need a very small amount: the dosage is calculated in drops per 100 grams of Elastosil FX A/B.

Processing

1. Weigh out Elastosil FX component A and B and mix them according to the processing instructions of the silicone.
2. Then add FX Fast drop by drop in the required amount. The dosing chart below applies to drops per 100 grams of Elastosil FX A/B.
3. Stir thoroughly again.
4. Work within the shortened pot life.

Points to note

• ✓ The more FX Fast you add, the shorter your pot life becomes. Try a new dosage on a small quantity first.
• ✓ Elastosil FX is an addition-cure (platinum) silicone. Curing can be inhibited by substances such as sulphur, tin compounds and latex. Use nitrile gloves and, if in doubt, do a small test first.
• ✓ Store the product between 5 °C and 30 °C in the tightly closed original packaging. Close the packaging immediately after use and use up any remaining material as soon as possible.
• ✓ The best-before date of each batch is on the label. After that date the product is not automatically unusable, but check its properties before you use it.
