A two-component polyurethane (PU) casting system with an optional filler. This casting system is characterized by its quality, ease of use, and very high impact resistance, even when processed at room temperature. The system is ideal for small castings, mold fixation, foundry models, replicas, and prototypes.

    • Beige colored two or three-piece system
    • Designed for fast, high-precision castings with high impact strength
    • Can be poured up to a layer thickness of 40 mm, provided you use sufficient filler
    • Filler quantity varies depending on application and can even be omitted completely
    • De-moldable after 10 hours (with a mixture of 1:1:3)
    • Can be mixed with up to 600% (of total weight) of filler

    Technical data

    Without filler

    Mixing ratio: A:B = 1:1
Processing time at 25°C: 5 minutes
    De-moulding time at 25°C: 14 hours
    Density: 1.08 g/cm³
    Linear shrinkage: 0.2%
Maximum thickness per casting: 4-5 mm.
    Glass temperature: 55°C
    Hardness: Shore D 75
    Tensile strength: 32 MPa
    Stretch: 19%
    Flexural strength: 48 MPa
    Flexural modulus: 810 MPa
    Impact resistance: 50 KJ/m²
    Impact resistance after post-curing 8 hours at 80 o C: 150 KJ/m²

    With filler

    Mixing ratio: A:B:Filler = 1:1:3
Processing time at 25°C: 4 minutes
    De-moulding time at 20°C: 10 hours
    Density 1.6 g/cm³
    Linear shrinkage: 0.2%
Maximum thickness per casting: 30-40 mm.
    Glass temperature: 55°C
    Hardness: Shore D 85

    Processing

Add half of the desired filler to component A and the other half to component B. Now mix the filler thoroughly into the components. You can, of course, skip this previous step if you do not wish to use filler. Pour the components together and mix thoroughly again. Pour the mixed product into the mold at a steady rate, taking care not to entrap any air. Excessive heat buildup in castings thicker than 5 or 40 mm can be prevented by pouring multiple successive layers (allowing each layer to set before pouring the next). Wait until the indicated time has elapsed before demoulding. The thermal and mechanical properties will develop quickly, but it is possible to improve the thermal behavior by "post-baking" the casting for 8 hours at a temperature of 80°C. Do NOT use an oven in which you intend to prepare food later!

    Important

The moisture absorbers in these products can settle, requiring remixing before use. This can be achieved by shaking the container vigorously before use. The less filler you add, the greater the heat generated during the casting and the less thickly you can pour at a time. Use a mixing bucket with a large surface area to maximize pot life.

    Shelf life

The polyurethane casting system should be stored in a dry place between 6–28°C. The expiration date, which assumes storage within the specified conditions, is indicated on the packaging. Opened packages should be used as soon as possible to ensure product quality. The normal shelf life is 6 months.
