    Size chart

Self-hardening epoxy clay with a clay-like texture for sculpting and restoration

Aves Apoxie Clay is a two-part epoxy clay that combines the workability of modelling clay with the strength and adhesion of epoxy. You knead equal parts A and B together for 2 minutes and then have 1 to 3 hours of working time. The clay hardens at room temperature without an oven and is fully cured after 24 hours, with 0 % shrinkage and a semi-gloss finish. Apoxie Clay has a slightly coarser texture than Apoxie Sculpt, which makes it well suited to larger objects. You can choose between Native and White.

    Key benefits

    • Clay-like consistency: holds detail and is easy to sculpt and smooth.
    • Self-hardening: no oven needed, fully cured after 24 hours.
    • 0 % shrinkage: no shrinking or cracking during curing.
    • Strong adhesion: bonds to itself, other epoxies, porcelain, ceramics, metal, vinyl, hard plastics, foam, fibreglass and wood.
    • Water resistant: also suitable for outdoor displays and freeze-thaw stable.
    • Easy to finish: once cured it can be sanded, drilled, tapped, sawn, turned and painted.

    Typical applications

    • ✓ Sculpting and embellishing
    • ✓ Miniatures, models and customising
    • ✓ Seam filling and restoration
    • ✓ Outdoor displays
    • ✓ Mixed media, assemblage and prototyping

    Processing

    1. Wear suitable gloves, for example nitrile.
    2. Take equal parts A and B and knead for 2 minutes until the colour is uniform.
    3. Let the mass rest for about 5 minutes; it will then be easier to handle. If it is still too sticky, wait a little longer. The longer you wait, the less the clay sticks and the sharper the detail.
    4. Sculpt within 1 to 3 hours. Smooth with a wet finger, brush or sculpting tool.
    5. Let the clay cure at room temperature and do not bake it. After 24 hours it is fully hard.
    6. Then sand, drill, stain or paint as required.
    7. Remove uncured residue with soap and water or with Aves Finishing Solution.

    Points of attention

    • ✓ Rub a little olive oil on your hands beforehand and dip your tools in cold water; this reduces sticking.
    • ✓ According to Aves the product contains crystalline silica. Always wear a dust mask when sanding cured clay and do not breathe in the dust.
    • ✓ The unmixed components may cause an allergic skin reaction. Avoid skin contact.
    • ✓ Store closed in a dry place between 6 and 28 °C. The product is freeze-thaw stable.
