Breathable protective coating for A1 acrylic resin, satin finish

A1 Sealer Plus Satin is a water-based coating that protects objects made of A1 acrylic resin against weathering such as UV and moisture. It is a concentrated solution of acrylates in water and a so-called breathable coating. You apply the sealer by brush, roller, cloth or spray and use approx. 8 to 10 m² per kg by brush. The result is a satin finish.

Key benefits

  • Protection against UV and moisture: for objects placed outdoors.
  • Breathable: applied thinly, the object can still breathe.
  • Water-based: one-component and solvent-free, easy to apply.
  • Dirt-repellent: reduces dirt pick-up.
  • Quick-drying: apply several coats in quick succession.

Typical applications

  • ✓ Outdoor sculptures and ornaments in A1 acrylic resin
  • ✓ Garden ornaments and facade elements
  • ✓ A1 objects with a metal filler, to lock in the effect

Application

  1. Let the object dry completely. For acrylic resin or plaster objects, wait at least 48 hours.
  2. Make sure the surface is free of wax, oil, dirt and dust.
  3. By brush: dilute with 30 % water. Rub the coat in with a dry cloth while it is still damp. Apply a maximum of 3 coats this way, with a few minutes drying time in between. Coverage approx. 8 to 10 m² per kg.
  4. By spray: dilute with up to 50 % water. No rubbing in is needed. Coverage approx. 10 to 12 m² per kg.
  5. Do not apply too thick a coat, as this will seal the object completely.

Points to note

  • ✓ Apply at a minimum of 10 °C.
  • ✓ Inspect the treated surface every year and re-treat it every 6 years if necessary.
  • ✓ Prefer a different sheen? Choose A1 Sealer Plus Gloss or A1 Sealer Plus Matt.
  • ✓ Shelf life 1 year in closed packaging, stored cool, dry, frost-free and out of direct sunlight.
