Premium Food-Safe Addition-Cure Silicone for Professional Concrete and Casting Resin Applications

Wacker Elastosil® M 4630 A/B is a pourable, addition-curing (platinum-cure) two-component silicone rubber (RTV-2) that cures shrink-free at room temperature. Curing can be considerably accelerated by applying heat. With a low Shore A hardness of approximately 28, a white final cure and outstanding resistance to concrete, this material is designed for making durable molds. The mixing ratio is 10:1 by weight, the pot life is approximately 90 minutes and the product is tack-free after approximately 12 hours. Thanks to its good flow and self-deaeration, the material delivers sharp, accurate reproductions of models with deep undercuts. Core applications are concrete molds and casting reproduction materials such as casting resins.

Processing Instructions

First stir component A and component B separately and thoroughly.
Mix A and B in a 10:1 ratio by weight. Use A and B only with the same batch number.
Mix slowly and thoroughly in a figure-8 motion until homogeneous; avoid trapping air.
Optionally degas the mixture under vacuum for an optimally bubble-free result.
Pour the mixture within the pot life of approximately 90 minutes.
Allow to cure for approximately 12 hours at room temperature; curing can be accelerated with heat.

⚠️ Platinum-cure inhibition: addition-curing silicones can be inhibited by contact with, among others, condensation silicones, latex, sulfur-containing materials, and tin- and amine-containing substances. When in doubt, always test on a small area first.

Wacker Elastosil M 4630 A/B is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. No GHS labelling is required. The material contains SiH groups and may, under certain conditions, release small amounts of hydrogen; keep it away from strong acids, bases, alcohols and oxidising agents. No respiratory protection is required under normal use. Nitrile rubber or butyl rubber safety gloves, safety glasses to EN 166 and good workplace ventilation are recommended. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working, and wash hands after handling. Always consult the full Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for complete hazard, handling and first-aid information before working with this product.
