Premium Fast Platinum-Cure Silicone Rubber for Professional Applications
PlatSil FS-20 is a fast platinum-cured silicone rubber from Polytek Development Corp. with a Shore OO66/A20 hardness and a low viscosity of 3,800 cP. This 1A:1B system (by weight or volume) is developed for molds and prototypes where fine detail reproduction and a short turnaround time are decisive: pour time 8 minutes, demold after 25 minutes.

PlatSil FS-20 is mixed in a 1A:1B ratio by weight or volume. Shore hardness: OO66/A20. Mixed viscosity: 3,800 cP. Pour time: 8 minutes. Demold: 25 minutes at 23°C. Specific gravity: 1.11. Tensile strength: 467 psi. Elongation at break: 626%. Tear strength: 148 pli (Die B), 53 pli (Die T). Appearance after mixing: milky translucent. Flashpoint: >150°C – this is a safety property of the uncured components and says nothing about the heat resistance of the cured rubber. Store at 15–32°C in unopened original packaging; shelf life up to 6 months after opening. Not classified as hazardous according to GHS/29 CFR 1910.1200. For PlatSil FS-20 we hold no declaration or test report for contact with foodstuffs. Polytek does not list this product among the silicones that comply with 21 CFR 177.2600. We therefore make no food-safety claim for this product. If you need silicones where that evidence does exist, look at Silicone Culinary (tested by TÜV Rheinland in accordance with § 31 LFGB, result Pass) or at the Wacker addition-cure ranges for which Wacker declares food-contact conformity in accordance with BfR XV and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600.
