Blue HTV silicone discs for spin casting pewter and fishing weights
Nicem HTV Silicone Discs Blue are one-component silicone discs that you vulcanise into a mould under heat and pressure. The vulcanised rubber is very hard (Shore A 61-63), stays very flexible and has a very high temperature resistance. The discs were developed primarily for the pewter industry and are suitable for spin casting (centrifugal casting) pewter figures and miniatures, fishing weights and lures. You vulcanise at 180 °C and 15 kg/cm², with a vulcanisation time of 2 minutes per mm of thickness. You need a vulcanising press for this.

Processing
- Make sure you have a vulcanising press; these discs cannot be processed without one.
- Vulcanise at 180 °C and a pressure of 15 kg/cm².
- Allow 2 minutes of vulcanisation time per mm of thickness. A 10 mm disc therefore takes about 20 minutes, a 15 mm disc about 30 minutes.
Points to note
- ✓ Allow for a shrinkage of about 2 %.
- ✓ If you work with the silicone frequently, wear gloves and make sure the room is well ventilated.
- ✓ Packaging D.400x10: 6 pairs (12 discs); D.400x15: 4 pairs (8 discs). Both including talc powder, about 25 kg per box.
- ✓ Keeps for at least 12 months in closed packaging at 10-25 °C.
