Premium Spreadable Condensation-Cure Silicone for Professional Mould-Making and Sealing Applications
Wacker ELASTOSIL® RT 480 is a high-quality, spreadable 2-component condensation-cure (tin-cure) silicone with a hardness of Shore A 55, specially developed for making spatula-applied moulds on vertical and sloping surfaces and for formed-in-place gaskets (FIPG). This professional product combines a high viscosity (250,000 mPa·s) for spatula application with excellent mechanical strength (tensile strength 4.5 N/mm²) and a flexible cure speed through the choice of curing agent.

Processing instructions:
- Weigh out Part A and Part B accurately in the correct ratio
- Mix both components until the colour is uniform
- Apply to the model with a spatula or brush
- Work within the pot life and do not demould until fully cured
Please note – humidity dependence: pot life and demoulding time depend strongly on the amount of Part B and on the humidity. Higher humidity shortens both working time and demoulding time.
Not suitable for: food-safe applications (for these, use our food-safe silicones) and skin contact/SFX (for these, use our SFX silicones).
