    Red casting wax for slush casting and the lost-wax process

    Remet Casting Wax Art Red is a casting wax for artists and bronze founders. You can easily fill a mould with it yourself or build up a hollow wax shell by slush casting. You then deliver the wax pattern to a foundry for the lost-wax process. The wax picks up fine detail, keeps its shape during demoulding and does not sag in summer. The melting point is 66 °C and you work it at 60 to 70 °C.

    Typical applications

    Processing

    1. Melt the wax at approx. 70 °C.
    2. Pour the wax into an open mould.
    3. Let the wax set briefly and pour back the still-liquid wax. A thin wax shell remains.
    4. Repeat until the shell has the required thickness.
    5. Finish the pattern with tools if needed.

    Points to note

    • ✓ Never heat the wax above 100 °C. This can permanently change the properties of the wax.
    • ✓ Avoid skin contact with molten wax and do not breathe in fumes or smoke.
    • ✓ Shelf life: at least 5 years.
