    Size chart

Medium-hard modelling wax for sculpture and the lost-wax process

Remet Modelling Wax Medium Hard is a medium-hard modelling wax for art and sculpture. You shape the wax by hand or work it with modelling tools. The wax does not stick and is neither grainy nor greasy. Because it is firm, it hardly deforms during demoulding or storage. It is also suitable for the lost-wax process. The melting point is 65 °C and it is best worked at 30 to 40 °C.

    Key benefits

    • Firm: hardly deforms during demoulding or storage.
    • Pleasant to work: does not stick and is neither grainy nor greasy.
    • Kneadable at low temperature: easy to shape around body temperature, ideal at 30 to 40 °C.
    • For the lost-wax process: you model directly in wax.

    Typical applications

    • ✓ Sculpture
    • ✓ Wax patterns for the lost-wax process and art casting
    • ✓ Detail work with modelling tools

    Processing

    1. Divide the wax into smaller pieces if needed.
    2. Warm the wax in an oven at a maximum of 40 °C so that it is easier to knead. A warm lamp or another nearby heat source also works.
    3. Make sure the wax does not get too warm. Otherwise it becomes too soft or even liquid.
    4. Shape the wax by hand or work it with modelling tools.

    Points to note

    • ✓ Never heat the wax above 100 °C. This can permanently change the properties of the wax.
    • ✓ Avoid skin contact with molten wax and do not breathe in fumes or smoke.
    • ✓ Shelf life: at least 5 years.
    • ✓ If you want a firmer wax, choose Remet Modelling Wax Hard.
