Self-hardening epoxy clay for sculpting, model making and restoration

Aves Apoxie Sculpt is a two-part epoxy clay that combines the mouldability of modelling clay with the strength and adhesion of epoxy. You knead equal parts A and B together for 2 minutes and then have 1 to 3 hours of working time. Apoxie Sculpt hardens at room temperature without an oven and is hard and waterproof after 24 hours, with 0 % shrinkage and a semi-gloss finish. You can choose from various colours, which can also be intermixed.

    Key benefits

    • Mouldable like clay: sculpt, cut, stamp and add texture.
    • Self-hardening: no oven needed, hard and waterproof after 24 hours.
    • 0 % shrinkage: no shrinking or cracking.
    • Strong adhesion: bonds to itself, other epoxies, ceramics, metal, wood, stone, glass, plastics, foam and fibreglass.
    • Easy to finish: once cured it can be sanded, drilled, filed and painted.
    • Freeze-thaw stable: also suitable for outdoor displays.

    Typical applications

    • ✓ Sculptures, miniatures and dolls
    • ✓ Jewellery, cosplay, props and set decoration
    • ✓ Restoration and repair of ceramics, porcelain and antiques
    • ✓ Model making and prototypes
    • ✓ Seam filling, bonding and woodworking
    • ✓ Aquarium decoration

    Processing

    1. Wear gloves. Measure equal parts A and B, preferably with separate tools.
    2. Knead for 2 minutes until the colour is uniform.
    3. Let the mass rest for about 5 minutes; it will then be easier to handle.
    4. Sculpt within 1 to 3 hours. Smooth with a wet finger or brush. Dip your tools in cold water for fine detail.
    5. Let the clay cure at room temperature and do not bake it. After 24 hours it is hard and waterproof.
    6. Then sand, drill or paint as required.
    7. Remove uncured residue with soap and water or with Aves Finishing Solution.

    Points of attention

    • ✓ The colour Stone White is not a bright white but rather creamy. For a true white result, choose Apoxie Super White.
    • ✓ The small 113.4 gram pack can feel hard. In that case, warm the closed jar for 5 seconds in the microwave on full power and repeat in 5-second steps if necessary. This does not affect the final quality.
    • ✓ A little olive oil on your hands stops the clay from sticking.
    • ✓ Wear a dust mask when sanding cured clay.
    • ✓ Store closed in a dry place between 6 and 28 °C. The product is freeze-thaw stable.
