Fast-curing two-component epoxy adhesive
Huntsman Araldite 2012 is a two-component epoxy adhesive that cures quickly to a strong bond between many different materials. The adhesive is self-levelling, bonds metals and plastics and withstands dynamic loads. At room temperature you have a pot life of 6 minutes and the bond is fixed after 20 minutes. The mixed viscosity is 30 Pa·s, the tensile strength 44 MPa and the maximum continuous operating temperature 70 °C.

Application
- Make sure the bonding surfaces are clean, dry and grease-free. Roughening improves adhesion.
- Dispense and mix the two components according to the instructions on the pack.
- Apply the adhesive immediately: the pot life is approx. 6 minutes at room temperature.
- Join the parts and hold them in place until the adhesive has fixed after approx. 20 minutes at room temperature.
- Only load the bond fully once the adhesive has fully cured.
Points to note
- ✓ The maximum continuous operating temperature is 70 °C. This is the temperature at which 1/3 of the room-temperature lap shear strength, or 5 MPa, remains.
- ✓ The elongation at break is approx. 4%, so the bond is rigid rather than flexible.
- ✓ Avoid skin contact and wear gloves and eye protection.
- ✓ Store the adhesive tightly closed in the original packaging.

This product is classified as harmful if swallowed and in contact with skin (H302, H312). It causes skin irritation (H315), may cause an allergic skin reaction (H317) and causes serious eye damage (H318). It is toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects (H411). Contains epoxy constituents; may produce an allergic reaction (EUH205). Signal word: Danger. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection. Work in a well-ventilated area and do not eat, drink or smoke while working. In case of skin contact, remove contaminated clothing immediately and rinse the skin. In case of eye contact, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. If swallowed, rinse the mouth, do not induce vomiting and consult a doctor immediately. Avoid release to the environment.
