Epoxy Resin Art Kit

A complete Resin Art Kit that lets you get creative straight away. The resin is transparent, which makes it very easy to colour intensely. After curing (24 hours), the epoxy is very strong and impact-resistant. You can pour the epoxy in various quantities and shapes onto a (table)top, but why not also try small paintings, LPs (for example on a turntable) and much more.

The set is supplied with:

• 750 g or 1500 g Universal Epoxy Casting Resin
• 4 colourants (20 g each)
• 4 spatulas
• 4 mixing cups (350 ml)
• plastic apron
• latex gloves
• 2 dosing syringes (1 x 5 ml and 1 x 10 ml).

Technical data

• Mix ratio: A/B = 100/50
• Pot life: 20–25 minutes
• Demoulding time at 20°C = 8–12 hours
• Fully cured (100 g at 20°C): 48 hours
• Colour of epoxy casting resin: colourless, UV-resistant
• Hardness after curing: Shore D 85 (hard)

Processing:

Always wear safety gloves and safety glasses when working with this material. Combine Part A and Part B in the correct ratio (A:B = 100:50) and mix thoroughly. Scrape along the sides and bottom while mixing to obtain a uniform mixture. If desired, pour the mixture into a 2^nd container and mix again. Add a knife tip of “epoxy colourant” to the mixture and stir again until the colour is uniform. The epoxy is now ready for use. Use the resin within the stated pot life of 20–25 minutes.

A hair dryer can be used to spread the resin and, at the same time, remove air bubbles. For bonding or filling workpieces, this epoxy can optionally be mixed with a filler.

Pot life:

The pot life stated above was measured at 20°C with a quantity of 100 grams. Naturally, the pot life depends on the temperature and the quantity of epoxy mixed. A higher temperature means faster curing; a lower temperature means slower curing. Larger quantities cure faster, while smaller quantities (or thinly spread layers) cure more slowly.

Shelf life:

This epoxy is best stored in a dry place between 18°C and 28°C. Opened packaging must be used as soon as possible to ensure product quality. In tightly sealed packaging stored as indicated, the shelf life is generally 6 months.

Safety information:

The products are harmful to health in liquid form. Avoid skin contact with either or both components. Vapours from this product may irritate the respiratory tract with prolonged or frequent use. Always wear safety gloves when working with this product. Always work in a well-ventilated area.
