Premium Metallic Wax for Professional Finishing of Sculptures and Bodycasting

Gilding Wax (Pentart Wax Paste by manufacturer Pentacolor) is a ready-to-use, beeswax-based metallic finishing wax that gives a sculpture, bodycasting or decorative object a rich, metallic appearance. The wax contains orange oil, providing a pleasant scent while you work. The 20 ml jar is ready to use straight away and does not need to be mixed. By applying the wax in thin layers and then polishing, a glossy metal effect is created, ideal for a classic bronze, copper, gold or silver look on porcelain plaster and acrylic resin. Available in several metallic colours.

Processing Instructions

1. Preferably work on a black base. If desired, first apply Bodycasting Primer Black and let it dry for about an hour at room temperature.
2. Put a very small amount of wax on a fingertip, brush or cloth.
3. Wipe the fingertip, brush or cloth on a smooth surface so that only a very thin layer remains.
4. Gently rub over the object in circular motions. Increase the pressure when little comes off, or add some more wax.
5. Work in thin layers for the best effect; usually three layers are sufficient. When using multiple colours, apply the next colour only when the previous layer is dry or no longer rubs off.
6. Let it cure for about 5 minutes and then polish with a tissue or paper towel to a glossy result.

Shelf Life and Storage

Stored cool, dry and frost-free in a well-sealed package, the wax has a shelf life of 1 to 2 years. Keep out of reach of children and away from heat sources, sparks and open flame.
