Wax-based release paste for master models and moulds
TR-108 release paste from TR Industries is a yellow release wax that is spreadable at room temperature. You spread the paste over your model, let it dry and buff it up. This seals the pores of your master model or original and gives better release from silicone moulds, as well as with polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy. The paste comes in a 400 gram tin, with a sponge inside the tin.

Processing
- Make sure the object is clean.
- Spread the paste, let it dry and buff it up.
- Master model: repeat this for 4 to 10 layers, until the surface shines and the pores are well filled.
- Reproduction: apply 2 to 3 layers in the mould until the surface shines, then cast.
- Apply a new wax layer as soon as a casting becomes harder to release from the mould.
Points to note
- ✓ Treat the entire surface and do not skip any area. Silicone may adhere where coverage is poor, and you will have to cut the mould free.
- ✓ The wax cannot be removed completely from the master model or original. Slight discolouration may remain.
- ✓ Under normal storage the paste keeps for at least 3 years.
