Blue platinum-addition silicone for mold making, concrete, and artificial stone
ZA 22 Mould is a pourable, two-component platinum-addition silicone that cures at room temperature into a blue mold with a Shore A 22 hardness. The mixing ratio is 1:1 by weight. The silicone flows well, cures without shrinking, and has a high tear strength of 20 N/mm, ensuring molds last for many castings.
Key benefits
-
High tear strength (20 N/mm): resistant to repeated demolding of undercuts.
-
Shrink-free curing: dimensionally stable molds, can be accelerated with heat.
-
Excellent flow: fills fine details and sharp corners.
-
Elongation at break 480%: wide margin during demolding.
-
1:1 mixing ratio: easy to weigh, no calculations required.
-
Blue: high contrast with light-colored casting materials such as plaster and concrete.
Typical applications
- Mold making and core molds where dimensional stability and precision are paramount.
- Concrete casting and artificial stone, thanks to good compatibility with concrete formulas.
- Sanitary ware and building elements.
- Molds for plaster, coatings and acrylic resins.
- Epoxy, polyester and polyurethane resins only with a release agent, see the note below.
Processing
- Shake the base and catalyst separately to eliminate any sedimentation.
- Weigh both components 1:1; use a separate spoon for each component. A deviation of up to 5% will not change the end result.
- Mix vigorously until the color is homogeneous, scraping the bottom and sides.
- Degas the mixture to prevent air bubbles and preferably pour from a height of approximately 30 cm.
- Demold after approximately 90 minutes at 23 °C. If necessary, use compressed air and avoid sharp objects.
- Additional pouring can be done within 24 hours: the new layer will adhere to the first.
At 40 °C, the working and curing time are approximately halved. At 4 °C, the working time doubles and the curing time takes approximately three times as long.
Technical data

Attention: inhibition in addition silicones
This is a platinum-addition silicone. Curing can be inhibited by sulfur, nitrogen, and tin compounds, latex gloves, some plastelines, condensation silicones, and certain 3D printing materials. The TDS also warns that some petroleum jellies may hinder curing. When in doubt, perform a small test first. Ensure the surface is clean, free of grease, and dry.
