ELASTOSIL® E10 RED is a ready-to-use, acetoxy-curing RTV-1 silicone rubber from Wacker Chemie AG. This one-component system offers exceptional heat resistance up to 230 °C (peak 250 °C) and adheres primer-free to a wide range of substrates — ideal for demanding high-temperature and industrial sealing applications. Its red color makes the product immediately recognizable in professional environments.

Technical Characteristics

ELASTOSIL® E10 RED is a 1-component RTV silicone rubber (acetoxy-cure) with a Shore A hardness of 25 after curing. Viscosity: approx. 9,000 mPa·s (D=0.5 1/s); skin-forming time 10–15 minutes at 23 °C. Curing rate: approx. 12 hours per mm thickness at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity. Tensile strength: 2.5 N/mm²; elongation: 300%; cured density: 1.10 g/cm³. Note: acetoxy curing produces acetic acid during curing — not suitable for corrosion-sensitive metals or electronics without adequate ventilation.

Safety Information

The product is not classified as hazardous according to EU regulations, but contains <3% ethyltriacetoxysilane and <2% methyltriacetoxysilane, substances which form acetic acid upon contact with moisture. Therefore, avoid prolonged exposure to vapours and prevent contact with water, bases, and alcohols during storage and processing.
