Process
ELASTOSIL® A07 TRANSLUCENT is a highly fluid, solvent-based RTV-1 silicone dispersion. It cures at room temperature and reacts with moisture to form a flexible silicone coating. During curing, it releases an organic amine.
It can be applied by dipping, spraying, brushing, or coating. Thinner coatings can be achieved by adding solvents (e.g., toluene, turpentine), while thicker coatings can be achieved through multi-stage coating.
The product contains approximately 25% solvent (bw), therefore appropriate equipment should be used and precautions taken due to solvent vapours.
ELASTOSIL® A07 TRANSLUCENT is a single-component coating that cures at room temperature; therefore, the curing speed depends on humidity. The curing speed can be accelerated by exposure to a carbon dioxide concentration of more than 1% pbv. Uncured or partially cured silicone can be removed using organic solvents such as aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons. Cleaning should take place before the rubber is fully cured. Once fully cured, removal is only possible mechanically, supported by preliminary swelling with solvent. Wacker Silicone Remover S8 is also suitable for thin films.

Storage
The expiration date of each batch is stated on the product label.
Storage after the date stated on the label does not necessarily mean the product is no longer usable. However, in this case, the properties required for the intended use must be verified for quality assurance reasons.
