Water-soluble silicone emulsifier for hair and skin care
BRB PEG-12 Dimethicone (BRB 526) is a silicone copolymer that is soluble in water, alcohol and hydroalcoholic systems. It combines emulsifying, conditioning and surface-active properties in one raw material for cosmetic formulations. The viscosity is 300 cSt at 25 °C, the density 1.07 g/cm³ and the calculated HLB value is 13.
⚠️ Responsibility for your end product
This is a raw material for cosmetic formulations. As formulator or manufacturer, you are responsible for the safety assessment and claims of your end product under the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Always test the stability and tolerability of your formula yourself.

Processing
- Choose the dosage for your product: 0.1 to 5% in rinse-off products such as shampoo and conditioner.
- Use 0.1 to 2% in leave-in hair treatments.
- Use 0.1 to 3% in skin care products.
- As an emulsifier for silicone-in-water emulsions, dose approx. 4% in the water phase.
- Use in aqueous, hydroalcoholic or alcoholic systems and test the stability of your formula.
Points to note
- ✓ Not compatible with waxes, mineral oils and medium-viscosity dimethicones.
- ✓ Store in the tightly closed original packaging between 5 °C and 30 °C.
- ✓ The expiry date is printed on the label.
- ✓ Read the safety data sheet and label before use.

Safety Information
According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, this product is classified as harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H412). No hazard pictogram applies. The product is not regulated for the transport of dangerous goods (ADR, IMDG, IATA) and has a flash point of approx. 113 °C. Avoid release to the environment and dispose of residues and packaging via an approved waste disposal company. As with all chemical raw materials, work carefully: wear nitrile gloves and eye protection, avoid contact with skin and eyes and ensure good ventilation. Store the product tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
