Premium Wax-Based Release Agent for Professional Model Making and Mold Making Applications
ACHEM SG-1008S Release Spray is a wax-containing release agent in a 500 ml aerosol can, developed for model making. The spray forms a strongly adhering, uniform and supple release film with good sliding properties and a very high release reserve. The product is white, silicone-free and is used undiluted. The active material has a density of 0.72 g/cm³ at 20 °C.
Key Benefits
- Very high release reserve – sufficient release performance remains even with demanding models.
- Strongly adhering, uniform film – the release film stays on the surface and covers evenly.
- Good sliding properties – the cast part releases smoothly from model or mold.
- Silicone-free – no silicone residue on model or cast part.
- Active material density 0.72 g/cm³ – sprays thinly and evenly.
- 500 ml aerosol can – undiluted and ready to use.
Typical Applications
- Releasing models in model and mold making.
- Releasing the master model when making a silicone mold.
- Treating slightly porous surfaces to which silicone could otherwise adhere.
- Separating layer on cured silicone when making a two-part mold.
- Older or heavily used models that require a high release reserve.
Instructions for Use
- Ensure good ventilation and clean and dry the surface.
- Use the product undiluted.
- Spray a thin, even layer by hand and make sure all areas of the model are wetted. The casting material may adhere to untreated spots.
- Allow the solvent to evaporate completely before casting.
- Keep in mind that a wax film can give the cast part a slightly matte finish, even if the mold is glossy.
Safety
ACHEM SG-1008S is an extremely flammable aerosol in a pressurized container. Do not spray onto open flames or other ignition sources, do not pierce or burn the can, even after use, and protect it from sunlight and temperatures above 50 °C.
