Aluminosilicate stucco and flour for strong ceramic shells
Remet Remasil 50 is a refractory aluminosilicate for building ceramic shells in investment and art casting. You can choose stucco in two grain sizes, 16/30 mesh and 30/60 mesh, and flour at 200 mesh. The stucco is custom ground into a uniform product with a narrow particle size range and few fines. This improves the permeability of the shell.

Processing
- Dip the wax pattern in the slurry, for example Remasol Jus-Dip, and let the excess drain off.
- Stucco the wet coat with the finer 30/60 mesh stucco.
- Let each coat dry well before applying the next.
- Build up the shell to the desired thickness with the coarser 16/30 mesh stucco.
- Use the 200 mesh flour as a refractory filler when making your own slurry.
