Premium Liquid Silicone Pigment for Professional Colouring of Silicone and Mould Applications

Silicone Dye is a highly concentrated liquid colourant from Holland Colours (Holcosil LSR series), specially developed for intense and even colouring of all types of silicone rubber. The dye is compatible with both addition-cure (platinum-cure) and condensation-cure (tin-cure) silicones and dissolves completely in the mixture without affecting curing or mechanical properties. At a dosage of just 1%, 50 grams of dye is enough to colour up to 5 kg of silicone. For selected colours, Holland Colours has issued a Declaration of Compliance for use in food contact articles in accordance with EC 1935/2004, FDA 21 CFR §177.2600 and BfR. Shelf life of at least 3 years when stored correctly.

• Easy processing without extra tools: add the dye directly to Part B (or to the mixed silicone). The uniform colour distribution during mixing immediately shows when A and B are fully combined.

Food-safe colours — overview per variant

The colours below come with a Declaration of Compliance (DoC) from Holland Colours Europe BV, in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and FDA 21 CFR §177.2600. The DoC applies to use in food contact articles made from Liquid Silicone Rubber. Compliance of the end product is always the responsibility of the manufacturer of the finished article.

Processing instructions:

1. Shake or stir the dye well before use — pigment can settle during prolonged storage.
2. Preferably add the dye to Part B before mixing the silicone. Part B is usually liquid and distributes the colour more quickly. The colour distribution immediately shows whether A and B are fully mixed.
3. Add the dye in small portions and mix well after each addition until the desired colour intensity is reached. Start with 0.5% and work up to a maximum of 2% for intense colours.
4. Colours can be mixed with each other. First make a small test mix before mixing larger quantities to determine the final colour.
5. Process the coloured mixture in accordance with the processing instructions for the silicone concerned.

Note the colour result per silicone type: transparent and translucent silicones give the most saturated colour results. With white silicones, a pastel shade automatically results from the white base colour. Take this into account when choosing materials for colour-critical applications.
