Premium Silicone Elastomer for Professional Pad Printing Applications
SilSo Print 21001 is a pourable, 2-component, addition-curing silicone rubber from CHT Germany that is highly suitable for the production of silicone printing pads. The material cures at room temperature with a Shore A hardness of 30, minimal shrinkage (<0.1%), and excellent ink resistance — essential for reproducible prints in industrial environments.
Key Advantages
- Low viscosity: Excellent flow and detail reproduction due to mixed viscosity of ~10,000 cP.
- Minimal shrinkage: Linear shrinkage <0.1% for dimensionally accurate pads.
- Ink resistant: Resistant to common printing inks for long pad life.
- Wide temperature resistance: Operable from -50°C to +200°C.
- Dilutable: Hardness and viscosity adjustable with silicone oil addition (50–300 mPas).
- Fast curing: Demolding after 12 hours at 23°C; can be accelerated with heat.
Typical Applications
- Production of silicone printing pads for pad printing on irregular surfaces
- Printing of promotional items, electronics, and medical devices
- Industrial marking of plastic, metal, and ceramics
- Prototyping of printing pads for small series and R&D
- Decorative applications in the automotive and consumer goods industries
- Replacement of existing pads in automated printing lines
Technical Characteristics
SilSo Print 21001 is mixed in a weight ratio of 1:1 (component A : component B). The pot life is 30 minutes at 23°C; full curing after 12 hours. Density of cured rubber: 1.1 g/cm³. Tensile strength: 7 N/mm², elongation at break: 600%, tear resistance: 30 N/mm. Shelf life up to 12 months when stored below 30°C in sealed original packaging.
