Fast, impact-resistant polyurethane casting resin for parts and prototypes

NEUKADUR MultiCast 11 from German manufacturer Altropol is a two-component polyurethane casting resin with exceptionally high impact strength. You mix resin and hardener 100 : 100 by weight, have approx. 5 minutes pot life at 25 °C and get a beige end product with a hardness of Shore D 75. The impact strength is 50 kJ/m² and rises to 150 kJ/m² after 8 hours of post-curing at 80 °C. With a tensile strength of 32 MPa and a linear dimensional change of just -0.20 %, MultiCast 11 is suitable for functional parts, moulds and prototypes.

⚠️ Mandatory training for professional use

The hardener (NEUKADUR Hardener ISO 1) contains diisocyanates. Since 24 August 2023, this product may only be used industrially or professionally by staff who have completed the mandatory training on the safe use of diisocyanates (REACH Annex XVII, entry 74).

Application

Shake or stir resin and hardener well before use. The moisture absorbers can settle.
Weigh resin and hardener in a ratio of 100 : 100 by weight.
Mix quickly and thoroughly; at 25 °C you have approx. 5 minutes pot life.
Pour the mixture into the mould in a steady stream and avoid trapping air.
Demould unfilled after approx. 14 hours at 25 °C at a wall thickness of 4 to 5 mm.
For maximum impact strength and heat resistance, post-cure the casting for 8 hours at 80 °C. Do not use an oven that you will later use for food.

Points to note

✓ Work in a dry room; polyurethane reacts with moisture.
✓ Cast thick parts in layers to avoid overheating.
✓ You can fill the resin with PU filler for thicker castings; the dosage is given in the technical data sheet.
✓ Store resin and hardener in the closed original packaging at 20 to 25 °C.

Safety Information

This product (resin and hardener together) is classified with the signal word Danger. It is harmful if swallowed (H302) and if inhaled (H332), causes skin irritation (H315) and serious eye irritation (H319), and may cause an allergic skin reaction (H317), allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled (H334), respiratory irritation (H335) and drowsiness or dizziness (H336). It is suspected of causing cancer (H351), may cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure (H373) and is toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects (H411). The hardener contains isocyanates and may produce an allergic reaction (EUH204). Do not breathe vapour or mist and wear respiratory protection if ventilation is inadequate. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection and wash thoroughly after work. Training on the safe use of diisocyanates is mandatory for professional use. What is the delivery time of my order?
