Premium Silicone Adhesive for Professional Applications
ELASTOSIL® N2010 is a ready-to-use, neutral (alkoxy) RTV-1 silicone rubber from Wacker Chemie AG. This one-component system bonds primer-free to a wide range of substrates and offers lasting elasticity over a temperature range of -50 °C to +180 °C — ideal for demanding electronics and industrial applications.
Key Benefits
- Neutral curing (alkoxy): No acidic by-products, safe for sensitive electronics and metal contacts.
- Primerless adhesion: Adheres directly to plastics, metals, glass, and ceramics without pre-treatment.
- Wide temperature range: Remains elastic from -50 °C to +180 °C after curing.
- Sprayable and dispensable: Liquid consistency allows processing via spraying, dipping, and dispensing.
- Solvent-free: No hazardous solvents; safe for use in enclosed spaces and with sensitive components.
- UV and weather resistant: Excellent resistance to ageing, moisture, and UV radiation for long-lasting performance.
Typical Applications
- Electronics: Bonding and sealing of printed circuit boards, sensors, and measurement and control equipment.
- Automotive electronics: Sealing of connectors, housings, and electronic modules in vehicles.
- Household appliances: Assembly and sealing of (small) household appliances.
- Industrial assembly: Connecting components in production and assembly lines.
- Prototyping & R&D: Flexible adhesive for test setups and laboratory applications.
- Sealing: Watertight sealing of connections and penetrations in industrial environments.
Technical Characteristics
ELASTOSIL® N2010 is a 1-component RTV silicone rubber (condensation cure, alkoxy) with a Shore A hardness of 25 after curing. The viscosity is approximately 10,000 mPa·s (D=0.5 1/s), with a skin formation time of about 20 minutes at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity. Tensile strength: 1 N/mm²; elongation at break: 200%. Cured density: 1.01 g/cm³. Curing occurs through moisture from the air; full curing depends on layer thickness and ambient conditions.
Wacker Chemie AG is a leading global manufacturer of silicones and polymer chemicals, with decades of expertise in high-performance silicone solutions for industry, electronics, and automotive. ELASTOSIL® is a proven product line for professional bonding and sealing applications.
