Brushable wax for a detailed first layer
Remet Brush Wax is a purple wax that you brush into the mould as the first, detailed layer. It is suitable for small to very large moulds, picks up fine detail and is easy to use. Thanks to its higher melting point of 74 °C, the wax stays firm even in summer. You then reinforce the wax shell with a backing layer, such as Remet Backup Wax.

Typical applications
- ✓ First layer (face coat) in small to very large moulds
- ✓ Hollow wax patterns for art casting and the lost-wax process
- ✓ Combined with a backing layer of backup wax
Processing
- Melt the wax at approx. 75 °C. The ideal processing temperature is 71 to 82 °C.
- Brush the wax into the open mould.
- Reinforce the wax layer by pouring a firm backing wax behind it at a slightly lower temperature.
Points to note
- ✓ Never heat the wax above 100 °C. This can permanently change the properties of the wax.
- ✓ Avoid skin contact with molten wax and do not breathe in fumes or smoke.
- ✓ Store the wax cool, dry and frost-free. Stored this way, it keeps for at least 5 years.
